“EXPLORING THE AEOLIAN ISLANDS“
PROGRAM
The package includes 8 days - 7 hotel nights (Saturday - Saturday) + excursions described below:
1st day - Saturday - Lipari
arrival in Lipari, transfer to the hotel, welcome drink, relax. Dinner at the hotel
2nd day - Sunday - Panarea and Stromboli
breakfast and at 10:00 leaving along the east coast of Lipari and arriving in Panarea after 45 minutes. Stop at the wonderful bay of Calajunco in order to go for a swim. Above the bay we can see the prehistoric village of Capo Milazzese. Proceeding towards the village of Panarea we pass at the small islands of Dattilo, Lisca Bianca and the Grotta degli Innomorati. We will then have 2 hours to visit the village. Proceeding to Stromboli, we come along Basiluzzo, the biggest of the islands around Panarea. Once arrived in Stromboli we will again have 2 hours to visit the village before proceeding towards the Sciara del Fuoco to see the eruption of the Volcano, passing along Stombolicchio at sunset. Arrival in Lipari at the hotel around 22:30 for dinner.
3rd day - Monday - shopping day
breakfast and visit of Lipari and its shops, the cathedral San Bartolommeo as well as the archaeological museum. Dinner at the hotel
4th day - Tuesday - Lipari-Salina
breakfast and at 10:00 leaving for a Lipari island round trip. It will bring us to Canneto, the pumice mountains with its wonderful turquoise beach, where we can go for a swim and then to Acquacalda from where we will head for Salina. Alongside Salina we will arrive at the beach of famous - since the movie “Il Postino” - Pollara, where we take a swim in the crystal water. Around the island we will arrive in Rinella where we will stop and taste the fabulous capers of Salina and the sweet wine Malvasia. Proceeding we will come to Lingua, a small fishermen’s place with its salt lake after which the islands is called. On our way back we will come along the west coast of Lipari where we can admire several caves. At the beach of Vinci we will go for another swim. Arrival at the hotel around 18:00. Dinner at the hotel
5th day - Wednesday - Filicudi-Alicudi
breakfast and leaving at 09:30. The boat brings us along the Faraglioni, south of Lipari. Arrival at Capo Graziano in Filicudi after about 1 hour where we can swim and then proceed on the west coast of Filicudi passing along the Grotta del Bue Marino, where we will have an unforgettable swim in the crystal water of the cave. Proceeding we will arrive after 40 minutes in Alicudi the island with the less inhabitants of the Archipelago and not yet subject to mass tourism.
We go for a walk on the mule path which will make us travel through ancient times. Before returning back to Lipari we will have one more swim. Arrival in Lipari at around 18:00. Dinner at the hotel.
6th day - Thursday - Relax
breakfast and relax at the swimming pool area of the hotel. Entire day at free disposal. Dinner at the hotel
7th day - Friday - Vulcano
breakfast and leaving for Vulcano at 10:00. We will come along Vulcanello, the youngest of the volcanoes, 183 B.C. with its curious lava figures such as the Valle dei Mostri. We proceed passing the Faraglioni and the Grotta degli Angeli, where on our left hand side we can see the black sands and the crater Fossa where there are still activities such as fumarole etc. Further we will see the Grotta del Cavallo, where we can shoot some pictures, and the Piscina di Venere, the pool of Venus. Along the west coast we will come to Gelso, with almost no inhabitants where we can go for a swim. On our way back we will have the opportunity to visit the harbour of Levante where we will be welcomed by the smell of sulphur. Here we will have the opportunity to visit the village, the hot sulphur springs and even ascent the crater of the volcano. At around 17:00 we will be back at the hotel. Bye-bye dinner at the hotel
8th day - Saturday
breakfast and transfer to the port of Lipari. Departure and end of services
NB: the program can be changed in case of bad weather conditions
